Festival of Ancient and Modern Science, 7th February 2017

On 7th February 2017, the East Oxford Community Classics Centre organised the “Festival of Ancient and Modern Science” at Cheney School in Oxford.

The Communicate Project participated with a stall on “Ancient cures for old illnesses” and “The Latin scientists speak”. A “Roman Doctor” offered some very strange cures for illnesses and problems the attendees to the event would experience by picking up a card from an ancient urn. Attendees would also have a go at matching scientific vocabulary to Latin words, finding out the reasons of the derivation.

We regularly post information on upcoming events of the like and workshops we organize for Schools. If you are interested get in touch!

The Communicate Project provides short and long workshops focusing on some of the most fascinating, compelling, polemic and creative Classical topics. The workshops cater for children, young people and adults. If you want to know more, and to have a look at our latest workshops, please visit our Workshops page here, or contact us here.
