LANGUAGES

The ability to communicate through speech is a characteristic that defines us as human beings. Words help us communicate with mesmerizing beauty and complexity. Humans have created hundreds of different ways to communicate through words, and it is astonishing that so many different languages can account for a single species. Our innate ability to learn and use languages is certainly undeniable, and we strongly believe that our fantastic linguistic potential needs to be exploited, nurtured and encouraged.

The Communicate Project CIC aims to work with as many different languages as possible, but focuses particularly on Ancient Languages.

Why Ancient Languages?

We can always learn from the past in order to make a better future. Roman and Greek culture lay at the base of Western civilization. Studying their languages and culture helps us not only to understand our own societies but also to being more open to others'. By understanding the structure of their languages and reflecting on them, we can also understand the way in which other languages, including our own, are built, and ultimately the way in which we think and structure our thought.
