Festival of Ancient and Modern Science, 7th February 2017

On 7th February 2017, the East Oxford Community Classics Centre organised the “Festival of Ancient and Modern Science” at Cheney School in Oxford.

The Communicate Project participated with a stall on “Ancient cures for old illnesses” and “The Latin scientists speak”. A “Roman Doctor” offered some very strange cures for illnesses and problems the attendees to the event would experience by picking up a card from an ancient urn. Attendees would also have a go at matching scientific vocabulary to Latin words, finding out the reasons of the derivation.
